I met Charlie on one of my first days working for ARB, back in 2003. From that day onwards we spent many a late evening chatting while we both worked. Charlie loved a chat! He was one of the hardest working and upbeat people I have ever known. Always humming a tune or whistling, always so happy and positive! I remember how proud he was when he spoke of Deirdre and all his children. He just loved his life and lived it to the full. I used to always ask him if he ever stood still!
The world has lost one of life’s true gents, that’s for sure.
My sincere condolences to Deirdre, Charles and all the family xx

We were so saddened to hear the news of Charlie’s passing.
We’ve known Charlie since he started working with us in ARB many moons ago and in that time he became a dear friend, his presence, good humour and wonderful personality will be sadly missed.
We’ve never met someone who embodied having a positive mental attitude more than Charlie. The manner in which he faced adversity and ill health was exemplary, he was always upbeat, never moping, moaning or being downtrodden - truly an amazing man.
Our deepest sympathies are with Deirdre and all of Charlie’s family.
Charlie RIP
