Sorry for your trouble Jimmy on the death of a great musician and a good Samaritan-he put me up for the night and drove me back to Galway for repairs when I broke down cycling past your gate ,so long ago now.

Ann and family, we are really sad to hear of your huge loss. Your Dad, Chris Droney, was obviously a great man and a talented musician. I can now see where you got your love and talent from and I’m sure that this Clare tradition will be in the family forever. Your Dad will never be forgotten. May he R.I.P.

Each St. Patrick's Day at Mass in Kilfenora I'd say, you probably don't know me but I'm.... and he'd say of course I know you, you haven't changed a bit since last year. Remembering Chris & Tom O'Loughlin in the duet competition competing against Peter O'Loughlin & Paddy Murphy in the Clare Fleadhanna in the 60's are wonderful memories.

I am glad that I went to the funeral of Chris Droney,because on a cold March day in 2016 in Labane Chris played music at the graveside for about twenty minutes as an Uncle of mine was been buried, a glorious memory,may Chris Droneys soul rest in peace.

I often heard my late father in law Micheal O'Loghlin, originally from Tarmon, Carron, Co Clare speak with great fondness, respect about Chris. He enjoyed many an evening in Bell Harbour with you all, the music, craic and cupan te no doubt. Irish traditional music culture was enriched by Chris and his love of it. Ar dheis De go raibh a hanam dilis.

Edel and Chris played so many tunes together on their Concertinas!! Enjoyed the lovely tea and sandwiches and the great stories he had to tell! A night we will always cherish. May God rest his soul.
