A golfing legend.
My boyhood hero!
May he rest in peace.
I was a young child in the 1960's. My father was a keen golfer himself and exactly one year older than Christy,. In those far-off days he seemed to talk so often of a certain 'Christy O'Connor', I was convinced that Christy was part of his regular four-ball at Rosses Point in Co Sligo! But no, it turned out my Father was part of Christy's vast legion of admirers and fans. Christy, thanks for the memories. R.I.P.
My deepest condolence to Christy’s family and friends. Christy was a true gentlemen, he gave willingly of his time and knowledge and always enjoyed a telling a good story. He will be very sadly missed.
