The most selfless and kind hearted man there ever was. I still remember the time he brought a teddy up specially for my son when he was born because he was so genuinely over joyed for us. An incredibly special man who’s presence is going to be missed by so many who were lucky enough to have had the honour to know him. Rest Peacefully Ciaran

What a great loss indeed! Ciaran was a mainstay in my life and in the lives of my siblings growing up in Bray. His sweet happy face always open and welcoming. I don't think we ever spent a summer day down at the beach, that we didn't bump into Ciaran. He would always remember our names, ask how we were getting along, and just showed a true interest in us all. I can't imagine Bray without him.... the world without him. If anyone is with the angels and brightening up heaven today, it is Ciaran. May he rest in Peace.

The warmth of the condolences posted here tells a lot about how highly Ciarán was regarded in our community. I loved running into him. Decades after we first met, there was always a big smile and a nostalgic nod from him on the lines of, “Remember when we worked in Dawson’s?” That was back in the ’70s – and he’d still have me in stitches with his recollection of various antics that used to make us laugh during our time in the iconic amusement arcade, from punters kicking the coin-drop machine in a vain attempt to extract cash they hadn’t won (until Jerry got on their case) to a car that once came to an abrupt halt mid-ride on the ghost train, much to the chagrin of its passengers. Such a lovely man. It was a privilege to have known you, Ciarán. I'm sorry you were taken so soon and so suddenly. Rest in peace.

To the Megannety Family,

So very sorry for the tragic loss of Ciaran, a real character and friend who I have known for many many years. A very kind and caring man who was incredibly good to my wife Judith (particularly when she was ill) often calling by with gifts from Lourdes and mass cards etc. He was a constant at the St Patrick’s Day Festival (and so many of the towns events) with PJ and myself always with a helping hand, a smile on his face and we had great fun too. May you rest in peace Ciaran, thank you for all the chats and laughs over the years, you will be sorely missed. My deepest sympathy to your family at this sad time.
