I was so sorry to the sad news about Clare. She did a lot of work with us in RKD and she was held in such high regard. One of my colleagues sent me the following message which says a lot:-

“Hi David,
That’s very sad news. I only knew Clare from the Connolly Project, but many fun stories and craic in that.
She was always laughing, a great source of top notch industry gossip, and became known for hiding little photos of Harry and Meghan Markle in to her conservation reports in recent years to give the reader a bit of a break from the ‘monotony of having to read through my reports!’.
She will definitely be missed!“

May she rest in peace
— David Browne

To Clare's family: our thoughts are with you. You will not know us, but we are but two of the very many Dragon sailors who knew and will fondly remember Clare. That is the sort of person she was; kind, friendly and fun. Clare may have crossed her finishing line here and regattas will less bright without her, but now her spirit will certainly brighten up the "aprés-sail" wherever that might be.
— Ron and Julia, GBR 633

My sincere sympathies to Moselle, all the Hogans and the extended family. Clare was the dearest friend and so full of life. Being with Clare was fun and unpredictable, but she was also steadfast and strong and a loyal friend. For her colleagues in DCC Conservation and Planning, working with Clare was enjoyable and informative and sometimes adventurous! Among her many achievements was her guidance of the restoration of the wonderful historic buildings complex at Grangegorman. I will miss Clare so much but will hold on to all the memories, especially putting the world to rights over a sparkling glass in her lovely sunny garden.

Clare was a great friend for so many years, we had great times together at rugby matches, at parties but mostly through our love was of sailing. We sailed together and we sailed against one another at so many regattas over the years and her presence was always great fun. Clare had a great sense of humour, she was always joyful, happy and always interesting and this rubbed off on the rest of us.
She was an amazing person, a truly great sailor and friend , she will be sorely missed by us all, she left the party too early…. May she RIP.

The sad news came over the Channel to Paris and I want to tell you, Moselle, how I and all the Boulards share your deep sorrow. You may remember that Pierre and I and our 5 children stayed with you in Monkstown Castle about 30 years ago. Your mother was so sweet to welcome us all. That was Clare : so welcoming!
I met Clare the one year I was a boarder in Killiney and then it was her turn to be a boarder with me in my school, in Poitiers, France. We spent each week-end in my parents' home in Tours. She was so creative (even the nuns thought so!), lively, thirsty for freedom and so interested to meet new peole and learn French.
I am very happy to have known her and her "joie de vivre" and your sweet grand-parents, and Felicity, Peter, Neil and Tom.
All the Boulards join me to assure you of our very special thoughts and prayers.
May Clare rest in peace and joy for an eternal life.
