Sincere sympathy to Martin, Ciarán, Kevin, Shane and Colette's extended family. I taught alongside Colette in St. Peter Apostle in Neilstown, where she was a much loved member of staff. So hard working and dedicated, Colette was the kind of teacher we all aspired to be. She had such a sense of fun! Colette and I shared a love of a good sing song and often bumped into each other in Vicar Street. Colette visibly lit up when talking about her family. We were invested in the progress of her boys! Thinking of you all at this very sad time.

Colette was my teacher when I did my final teaching practice in St Peter Apostle.I owe Colette so much as I got a job in the school and worked with her for 10years after that. I knew immediately how lucky I was having such a brilliant teacher to mentor and guide me. Colette was a magnificent hardworking teacher and a fantastic friend and colleague. Such craic we had talking Gaa, as a Mayo woman I never came out on top,but we had mighty fun all the same.
Rest in peace Colette.

It was a pleasure to have met Colette; to have seen her in action in the classroom and to have known her sons who she clearly reared so well. Martin, Ciarán, Kevin, Shane, Marie, Dolores, Michael and all of the extended family, I'm so sorry to hear of the untimely passing of my dear friend and colleague, Colette. May she rest in peace. We knew each other in St. Pat's 1975 to 1978 and then really formed a friendship when she joined us in Neilstown school. We retired on the same day in 2014. We shared many a lift and a taxi on staff nights out along with lots of laughs and continued to meet up in Finnstown Castle Hotel for our retirement catch-ups. I will always remember Colette as a fantastic teacher, so easy and flexible to work with and a constant support and morale booster. No matter who you were or where you came from, Colette had a big open smile for you. She loved her family, the Dubs and especially, the children she worked with every day. Slán, a chara.
