— Joan Nolan Farrell
It’s with my deepest sympathy and heartfelt sadness that I give my condolences to the Kearney family. Conal was one of the most kindest, loving, empathetic joyful individuals I have ever known. I recall my time with Conal when I visited Ireland over the years. My most memorable was visiting him when he had the barge and going down the grande canal and stopping at the quaint towns along the way. He was definitely in his element and enjoyed performing and teaching the younger generation. I will remember the fun times of singing and throwing back a couple of pints in the towns we visited. I will always cherish those times with him dearly. Rest in peace my dear cousin. I know I will see you again one day when the Lord calls me home as well. God bless! Your loving cousin Seamus. Cheers!
— Seamus Quinn
Our sincere sympathies to Conal’s family and close friends. We were lucky to enjoy Conal’s company on many fun evenings in Kenilworth Park. He always brought great craic, humour and a deep interest in people. Very happy memories.

Living in Curragreen, the home of his Galway ancestors, his contribution to the Burke Family Tree compiled by Kieran Burke is so interesting.

Conal was one of the first wave of Irish students to attend Ecole Marcel Marceau with Jonathan Lambert and Vincent O'Neill in the 80's. I went the year after they all graduated. He gave me great advice on surviving the challenging school it was, including a great recipe for Ratatouille which he said , with rice, was a cheap but great dish that would keep me going on the meagre savings I had to get me through my first year.He was so right. He was funny, kind and passionate. Such a nice man in every way. R.I.P Conal and thank you. Sincerest condolences to all the family.

I first met Conal in the 1970s when he was a young actor with Gemini Productions. After many years, I renewed the connection through our mutual good friends, Aisling and Derek. We always had warm, lively conversations recalling figures from stage and theatre. He knew everyone! He was immensely proud of his grandfather, Peadar Kearney, and in 2016, our paths crossed again when I was filming an item on Amhran na bhFiann for RTE. As ever, Conal was passionate and engaged. RIP Conal.

I met Conal through his work with the Aislinn (later Christine Buckley) Centre.

He had a sense of fun, great patience and enthusiasm about people’s talents and potential. He had a warm and welcoming presence combined with a great work ethic. He was hugely popular within the centre and quite simply a lovely human.

I hope his family are comforted by the knowledge of his positive impact on others through his work.

Very sad to hear of Conal's passing, lovely memories of working with him to bring the barge theatre along the Grand Canal route from Edenderry to Banagher (2005 to 2008) to schools and communities. Conal was not just a part of the magic of my childhood, he was inseparable from it. He was the essence of a generous spirit, casting a spell of joy wherever he went. Death is so unfair but the piece of my heart which he created will glow through all of my days. Rest in peace Conal, a chara

I'm deeply saddened to hear of the untimely death of Conal. What a super selfless guy who worked in the Aislinn Centre now known as Christine Buckley Centre. Not alone was he a drama therapist, but he was so kind with his time. He treated our clients with dignity and instilled a sense of self-worth to all. Before he came to our centre, Conal taught all 4 of my children drama. He had such a gift for teaching and made classes so much fun. Conal, you will be missed you gave so much of your time and expertise way beyond the call of duty. May you rest in peace with the holy angels. Say hello to Christine. So sad that Conal has left us. I didn’t meet him enough in life but the times I did, either bumping into him on the streets of Galway or meeting him at my sister Aisling’s house, he always brought a smile, positive energy and an acute interest in other human beings. His creative energy and passion for life touched all who met him. He will be sorely missed. Deepest sympathies to his family and friends at this sad time. May he rest in peace. A new twinkling dancing star will now be looking over us all.
