My deepest sympathies to Cyril's family. We shared 10 years together in the College and then in the club. I always enjoyed his company and happy outlook on life. A great club man, he will be sorely missed. Rest in peace, Cyril.

To Cyrils family and friends, I've just learned of his passing and I'm very saddened to hear the news. Cyril served my family with his famous centre loin pork chops with the kidney for over 3o years and we shared many stories of terenure both in the shop and the club. He was infectious, good humoured and had a wonderful smile, a true gentleman. Rip.
— Sean Finnegan
Sincere condolences to Wendy, Graham, Irene and extended family. Cyril was one of life’s great characters. He was always friendly and in great humour wherever he went. One of his best stories was when he first met Mary and asked her if he could leave her home. When he heard she lived Northside he said he was looking for a girlfriend not a penpal. He was a once off and we will never see the likes of him again. RIP
— David and Geraldine Cooke, Cork

I'm very saddened to hear of Cyril's passing and I offer his family my sincere condolences. It was only 10 days ago I phoned Cyril to ask him along to our Terenure College centenary celebrations. He said he wouldn't come on this occasion but would prefer to wait for the class of 1965 40th next year. His sudden passing came as a shock to me.
Rest in peace, Cyril.

Cyril, from the happy smile in the white coat peeking around the counter, jokingly offering icecream (aka pork lard) to us as small kids, in the cherished aroma and the sawdust covered floor of "The" Pork Butchers to countless days in "The" Club in his purple/black & white. Always smiling!! Always remembering who we are! ... Cyril, you were a happy legend brightening everyone's days. Happy days now up above. Sympathy to you all. RIP

As Freddie sings
Another one bites the dust … and what a one. Unique.
I know it’s already been said but wow does that wonderful photo catch the essence of that wonderful man. Congrats to whoever picked it - I used to address my gentleman friend Cyril as squirrel!
Jovial, a Bon vivant , urbane, sophisticated, witty, interesting and intelligent, kind, feisty and much much more. Cyril had such a joi de vivre. I always came away from meeting Cyril in better form and smiling. He will be so missed in the Rubber and especially by his Family and many Friends everywhere. Sincere condolences to all -especially Wendy and Graham who I know. And his Sis. Rest in Peace ,

To Wendy & Graham, our sincerest condolences on the passing of Cyril. When I received the text on Sunday morning I shed more than a tear.
There is not enough paper to write about Cyril and the photograph you used is a wonderful way to remember him. He was a great pal of my father and there were so many evenings I’d drop dad home with his shoulders still chuckling after their “solving the world’s problems” on a Sunday afternoon in Terenure RFC
May he rest in peace
