Damien was one of a kind and will be sorely missed.
As we watched the service from our home in Orlando, Florida, this morning, it brought back lots of fond memories of nephew Damien when he was young, like being out on the beach in Annestown etc. but his infectious smile will always stay in my mind, whether it was a conversation about the marathons that he had ran, or about the kids or how much he loved his job etc. He was always in a good mood.
Unfortunally I have not seen him for a long time, as I moved to the US in 2009 but Declan & Darryl kept me updated on how he was doing etc.
Today is one of the saddest days that I have had in my life.
To see another young person, pass in their prime is very saddening, but that great smile that he had, will always stay with me.
