Dear Eithne, I was so sorry to hear about Dave’s passing. I have an abiding memory of being about 11 or 12 years of age and, as I lived near Flower Lodge, I went up to watch Cork Hibs train. On my way I went to the shop to buy a choc-ice. When I got there Dave saw me eating the choc-ice and asked me where I had gotten it and would I go and get a few for himself and the lads. He gave me some money and when I came back with the choc-ices he told me to keep the change. As you can imagine being a big Hibs’ fan I lived off this for the rest of the summer. He brought so much joy to us Hibs fans and he wont be forgotten.

Sincere condolences on Dave’s passing RIP .I got such a gunk when I heard the news on the radio. I knew Dave from the travel agency in Monkstown and he was such a lovely man to meet ; a droll sense of humour, didn’t sweat the small stuff, really helpful and accommodating.
My Mum and I were on the same flight as your sister-in-law and her lovely daughter all those years ago.
I feel so sad to think that Dave is no longer around to make the world a sunnier place so I can’t even begin to imagine how you must be feeling.
