Mr Cantwell was one of the greatest French teachers I could’ve ever asked for. He was eager and passionate about the language and he always pushed his students to the best of their ability, wanting to immerse them in the language. One of the kindest individuals I've met and a great French teacher. Had incredible patience (I still wonder how he put up with our class!), and did a fantastic job of helping us all get through the Leaving Cert. An absolute gent.

Mr.Cantwell As I knew him was the best french teacher a class could ask for.He saw the best in his students and could make pupils both laugh and learn,he had a talent for improving his students school life with every lesson he taught.He clearly loved his family and I wish them the best moving forward.My deepest condolences to all of David’s friends and family

So very shocked to learn of David's passing. We have fond memories from our time together at FBC in Dublin. Unfortunately we have been out of touch recently.
