We were deeply saddened by the news of Dave's passing. Ever since we first met in O'Donoghue's in 2002, Dave has been an integral part of Dublin for me. As a little au pair girl in Ireland, Dave quickly taught me how Irish humour works. During numerous reunions in Dublin, my family and many of my friends also enjoyed Dave's sunny disposition and his jokes. He also immediately took my boyfriend Marco (Dave spontaneously renamed him Carlos) to his heart. Dublin, which will always be my second home, will never be the same without Dave. But we know that on future visits to O'Donoghue's we will always remember Dave and the good craic we had together. RIP Dave. Our sincere condolences to Kimara and all the Cashin family.

Dear Carol, Sarah, and members of the Cashin family,

We want to express our deepest sympathy and share that our hearts are with you during this difficult time. Reflecting on cherished memories from the late 1960s & '70s, I recall fond moments spent at the family home in Crumlin, having spent an hour in the car driven by Dad while Mum entertained us with 'I spy with my little eye' and on arrival jumping out to play with David and John in the yard, while Aunt Margaret brewed strong tea in the kitchen with Uncle John looking on or tending to work to be done. These memories hold a special place in my heart.

David was a wonderful person, and his absence will be deeply felt. May you find solace in the love and support of those around you as you navigate through this loss.

With heartfelt condolences
