Sincere sympathy to Dave's wife and family and the extended O'Sullivan family on Dave's recent death. Dave was in a band with me years ago, he was some musician, recently we used to meet him in Mahon playing at Mass on St Patrick's Day. I was delighted to meet him some months ago at Comhaltas in Douglas. Sorry that I missed the funeral but I was sick at the time.

Also warmest thanks for his kindness and musicality which i had the honour to experience and witness many times in various choral settings. I will never forget in particular how sensitively he accompanied one of my sons singing " The Snowman" at a Ballinlough Christmas concert many years ago. Deepest sympathy to Marian, Cara, Áine, Cian and his siblings Jim, Helen, John V, Kevin, Tom, and the extended O'Sullivan family on the passing of Dave. What a loss he will be to the musical life of the city. A gifted and natural musician, he was a much loved and respected teacher and colleague in the County Cork ETB School of Music, an organist and pianist of quality, and an excellent and supportive accompanist. But above all these accomplishments it was Dave the person who always shone through. His kind, positive, outgoing, and supportive nature impacted on all those he met and worked with, and he was held in high regard by all as a person who lived his life to the full with music and family at its centre. It is a sad irony that the last time I saw Dave was accompanying at the Choral Festival. How little did we realise that this would be his final swan song. Rest easy Dave.
