Deepest heartfelt sympathies to to Maureen Ruth and family.
I simply don't have the words to express the feeling of loss that consumes me.
I remember fondly when David was getting kicked out of his first band "Nightflight" and I could clearly see that "Nightflight" were actually throwing out the baby with the bath water, so I spoke to David after his finale gig in the Boxing Club and asked him if he wanted to join a band I was trying to put together. He excitedly agreed and we discussed the music we would play. A rehearsal of sorts was organised in the front room of my parents house in Duleek Street. My own mother was in the living room next door very much grieving for the loss of her own mother who had died suddenly on Mothers Day 3 wks earlier, but such is the folly of youth and the show must go on..... I quickly discovered that David was gifted with a very rare talent beyond just being a great guitar player, musician, singer, songwriter and loyal friend, we ended up calling the band "Trenchtown" and his generosity made sure he shared his gifts with us all. The numbers of people that he brought joy and happiness to is immeasurable. He has left a very lasting impression on not only me.
Love and best regards.
— Robbie Caffrey
Still so shocked and saddened by the news of Leso’s passing. I’ve known and worked with him for over 20 years since first picking up the bass and joining the Big Ass Band when I was 17. It feels like losing a brother. Leso was funny, kind and a musician I greatly admired. It was an honour to have shared the stage with him so many times. He was one of the biggest influences on my life, thank you Leso for introducing me to Ska and Reggae. I’ll miss your crazy laugh and antics! Big love rude boy X
— Ellen O'Reilly
