My deepest condolences to Joanne and all the O'Connor family at this time. David will be hugely missed by the actuarial community in Ireland for his insightful contribution to discussion and debates as well as his wonderful sense of humour and fun. He was hugely influential on me in my early career as head of the WTW non-life team when I joined as a graduate. I learned so much from working with him and made some great memories outside of the office including hiking the Four Peaks. May he rest in peace.

I will remember David for his patience and kindness to me in the New Ireland all those years ago as I struggled trying to make sense of actuarial “lingo”
may the good Lord welcome him home with a big kiss and a hug.

David was the spiritual leader of us young actuaries in New Ireland. My last and fondest memory of DOC was sharing pints in O'Donoghues after a recent actuary Christmas lunch. We invited anyone, we didn't care who joined us, and then had the usual, always pertinent, philosophical chat. DOC RIP

With deepest sympathy,
To Auntie Brede, Claire and Joan and to Joanne, Ian, Rory and Sally, sincere condolences on the death of cousin David. Great memories of Davy, from the early 80’s bumping into himself and Ronan in their usual drinking haunts around town, to a more recent walk with him through Trinity College as he regaled me with the tales of his adventurous trip through New Zealand. Davy certainly fought the fight. May his soul now rest in peace.
The Doc, a gentleman and a wonderful person. Sadly missed
Joanne, my sincere sympathy on the loss of David. He gave me my first role in general insurance (as you may recall) over 30 years ago and was a pleasure to work for. Thinking of you and your family at this very sad time.
