I was saddened to learn of Dearbhla's untimely passing. Our paths crossed briefly in DCC but I remember her as such a pleasant woman with passion for her architecture. I also bumped into her occasionally on the train where she was always busy with her knitting. Thinking of her family at this sad time. May her gentle soul Rest in Eternal Peace.

My sincere condolences to all of Dearbhla's family. Dearbhla welcomed me into the Dublin knitting community over a decade ago and I was proud to call her my friend. Every time I picture her she is holding court at the centre of a group of knitters and everyone is laughing at whatever madcap story she is telling this time. To her children, your mum loved you so much and she was so proud of each and every one of you.

I was very sad to hear about Dearbhla this Christmas. I remember her fondly from school in Templemore, and her enthusiasm for architecture inspired me to go on to study it myself. My deepest sympathy to her family.

I only met her a couple of times, but I remember her as an amazing woman. So fearless, and generous with her time and wisdom. A great person to be around and a lot of fun.

There are not many like her, she will be missed

Dearbhla was one of my first friends in Ireland. We bonded planning an Knitting Weekend together online before we ever met in person and I have always considered her a kindred spirit. She whole heartedly supported me in any of my woolly adventures from Knitmas to Fibre Feis... they never would have been near as good without her.
