I was saddened to learn of Dearbhla's untimely passing. Our paths crossed briefly in DCC but I remember her as such a pleasant woman with passion for her architecture. I also bumped into her occasionally on the train where she was always busy with her knitting. Thinking of her family at this sad time. May her gentle soul Rest in Eternal Peace.

Every time I picture her she is holding court at the centre of a group of knitters and everyone is laughing at whatever madcap story she is telling this time. Dearbhla was one of my first friends in Ireland. We bonded planning an Knitting Weekend together online before we ever met in person and I have always considered her a kindred spirit. She whole heartedly supported me in any of my woolly adventures from Knitmas to Fibre Feis... they never would have been near as good without her.
