Jack, I don't know life without you in it. I've known you my whole life. You and Brigid have been like my second mam and dad always there for us and treating us as family. Your four amazing girls who are not just my friends they are my sisters always have been and always will be. All my memories of family holidays and party's and every summer in the mobile you are there. You have been an amazing friend to my dad, never leaving his side during the hardest times in his life and we will do the same for Brigid.

I will miss our chats, your many many stories and your singing, making up your own words and just doing your own harmonies.
Stephen will miss all your worldly advice and help and the girls will miss popping in for chats and goodies. Things will never be the same.

I hope you know how much you mean to me. I love you and I'll miss you so much. Sleep tight Jack xx

Dear Declan,

You were always there for me and to everyone else around you. Some small examples that I can speak on personally was when you picked me up from the airport on my first solo trip to Dublin in my early 20s, showing me how to eat raw garlic cloves when I was younger, or supporting my facebook posts through the many difficult phases of my life. You were always kind, non judgmental and just a really good person to everyone around you. I feel lucky to call you my uncle.

My fondest memory was coming home from a night out in Windsor (Canada) during my masters degree and you and uncle Pat video chatted me, after a few drinks yourself, joking about the first time my dad came to Ireland! It was an amazing moment that I cherish not only because all of us were up the same time regardless of the 6 hour time difference lol but also about the laughs we shared! xoxoxox This is a huge shock to me because I thought I would be saving up enough money to visit soon and just having a laugh with you!

Life has so no guarantees and there are so many moments to cherish. I hope you are at peace now and know that you are in my heart always.
Love always your niece Nadine

With great sadness..my condolence’s go to Brigid, nieces and extended family member’s on the loss of Declan. He was a great father and grandfather. He was a kind, gentle and intelligent soul who put his family and everyone he cared for above all. As a brother..we lived..fought..cried and laughed together. We did not always show the love that we had inside but we knew it was there. When I..was home last year..we got to spend time together..and I will always cherish those memories..along with all of the memories from our childhood..until it is my time to get my wings. Heaven has gained another angel..rest in peace dear brother.
— Deirdre Proulx

My deepest condolences to Brigid and Jack’s family, especially his grandchildren who he absolutely adored. Will always remember Jack on the caravan site in Portrane, stopping for a chin wag as he went on his walks with Conor and Megan as small kiddos. Or with Karl on the roads around Portrane.
A true gentleman, taken far too soon. Your face and presence will be missed down there this summer and always. May you rest in peace Jack.
