Declan was my best friend and room mate in the castle in Blackrock and my best friend and classmate all through school of architecture 1966-1972
We then worked in an office in dublin and when I moved to Kenya in 1974 he visited me here
I never saw Declan without a smile on his face
I never knew a day that he wasn’t pursuing something exciting
He was a beautiful person full of curiosity and empathy
We made friends in dublin in the late 60,s with builders boutique owners restaurateurs street musicians artists and beggars
We all loved his open soul and brave heart
His obsessive and fascinating pursuit of the next fun experience
From the day I met him I knew he was one of the most special people ever born a true “ natures gentleman”
Sadly we did drift apart
But when I open my memories they are like yesterday

Fond memories of cousin Declan teaching me to draw soldiers and spins in that famous Porsche .
