It’s with sadness I’ve learnt of dear Declan’s passing. Manys a political debate and laugh I shared with him as colleagues in the Brussels faction of ‘Team Harkin’. He was wonderful company and a great soul. May he rest in peace now and find debating partners in the next life, as he’ll surely convince them to put the world to rights with him! Very sorry to hear of Declan's passing. I had the great pleasure of working with Declan as a Councillor when we were both elected at the same election. Always good to debate and argue a point and committed to represent people. I enjoyed being on the same side of the debate rather than opposing!
