I have been in Brazil since the 1960s and having studied with Willie, I followed the developing Powers seed business including the acquisition of Nickerson in Ireland, at a time when I worked for Nickerson's IPB in Brazil. Declan was indeed a notable executive in the European and Irish seed business. Deepest sympathy to Dorothy and all the family.

How sad I was to learn that I had missed Declan’s funeral today. I should have liked to have paid my final respects to him. He was a great hunting friend, who along with his wonderful horse, Albert, gave hours of happy entertainment. He was kind and generous and acted as my mentor for several years, for which I am truly grateful for the sensible advice and help he gave me. I treasure my happy memories of a day out with him at Mount Congreve. My sincere condolences and sympathy to his whole family. May he hunt on in heaven. RIP.

So sorry to hear of the sad passing of Declan. Memories go back to the 1960's. My late husband Linn Morton (Morton Seeds, Banbridge) and Declan were good pals in the Seed Trade plus their "away from work" enjoyment of Hunting.
