No words can express the shock, sorrow and sadness to hear of Deirdre's passing. It is an unreality. From the first day I met her in October 1995 she immediately made me feel welcome at my new workplace. She made me the nicest cup of tea to help settle me down. The tea worked wonders but it was Deirdre, who made working in a new and big organisation worthwhile, fun and happy. Her warmth, laughter and friendship she shared with all her colleagues was truly a special gift and delightfully contagious. She was unsurpassable and at todays costs, immeasurable and invaluable. Thank you God for Deirdre and for giving her to the world, to her family, to her friends and all who loved her. Our lives were and are still enriched by her kindness. Our grief will never repay the debt we owe to her in return for all the joy, laughter and friendship, freely shared with everyone she knew. God comfort her family and all her loved ones. Her memory is cherished forever in our hearts. Thank you Dear Deirdre for everything.
— Michael W Collins CSSO
Deirdre, dear girl, I have only learned of your passing and I am so so sorry. You sure are with the angels now. I joined the CSSO as you left and went back to Donegal and I stayed here. I didn't know you were ill. I am sorry we lost touch. We had our laughs and our nights out and I will cherish those fabulous memories. Look down on me. You are remembered in my thoughts and prayers.

Deirdre will always be remembered by me with her beautiful smile and always with that twinkle in her eye.
She was a lovely friend , clever , funny and amazingly kind.
I worked with Deirdre in Dublin and we were close pals. We had some great weekends away together , she threw great parties and her famous barn dances are still talked ,about down here.
Always her whole family meant the world to her , I would like to sympathize with you all so much and hope you can get some comfort knowing she is back with her Daddy,
It wont take hearing the Hills of Donegal to think of Deirdre but I will start there and play this today and often, Love to you all and I will remember you all in my prayers .xxxx
