Distraught and heartbroken at being unable to go to Denis when he was ill, unable to attend his funeral, nor lay my flowers and words of love on is grave, I offer my belated condolences to all of Denis’s family in Ireland, belated because I have only just, this very day, found this means of conveying them. Please God may they know that I also loved him, very deeply.
I still love Denis, I always have and I always will. My love for him will burn bright for all eternity. Born just two days before me, on the 18th June 1945 he was, and has remained, the love of my life ever since we first met and fell in love in January 1971. Nobody could ever take his place in my heart. Despite unfortunate circumstances parting us, we remained in touch right up until shortly before he was taken ill, when it became impossible for me to visit him.
To Denis’s memory I dedicate this poem by Henry Van Dyke:
TIME
Time is…..
Too Slow for those who wait,
Too Swift for those who fear,
Too Long for those who grieve,
Too Short for those who rejoice,
But for those who Love,
Time is…….Eternity

We will be reunited.
