Dear Barbara, Frank and Cait, John and Eimear, Julianne and Enda, Bairbre and Ruairi and Emily, grandchildren Jessica, Clodagh, Saoirse, Charlie, Donnacha, Saibh, J.J.,
Eamonn, Darragh, Denis Ogie, brothers Derry, Frank, John, sisters Eileen, Annabelle, Peggy,
On behalf of my whole family, I wish to extend my profound sympathy on the death of your beloved Husband, Dad, grandfather, brother, Denis J. Reen. A faithful son of Eire with a passion for family. I imagine that Denis would grieve alongside of you, take your hand and ask you to remember all of the smiles and stories that each of you shared. I wish you comfort in your loss of Denis and send you strength to remember that gift that Denis was to each of you. Keep Denis fresh in your mind and in all of your conversations. May your memories of D.J. comfort you now and in your lives forever. Remember that each of you will always remain living in the grandeur of Denis’s love. Grief never ends, but it changes,
It is a passage, not a place to stay, Grief is not a sign of weakness nor is it a lack of love.
It is the price of love. A ‘gentle man’. May you rest in eternal peace. My heart and soul breaks for each of you.
Respectfully,
Ed O’Callaghan Jr.

— Aindrias Moynihan TD
I feel embarrassed that I only heard yesterday of Denis’s death. I know he will be sadly missed by all he led and encountered through all the groups, organizations, Committee s clubs and all his business and personal encounters, but my sympathy first and foremost to you Barbers his children and their families and to his Brothers and Sisters and their families. The closer we are to one the more we feel the pain of loss. You were all so close I know that pain will run deep, if you feel a part of you has died then remember a part of Denis lives on in you. Cherish that, don’t let his life and all he achieved be a memory, make it a living reality. Take just one gift or value he had and nourish it in your own life and let it be the light for you in times of darkness. I pray that Denis is united with his family and friends gone before him and that the Lord will give you all the grace courage and strength in the days months and years ahead to cope with his loss.
