Condolences Phyllis, Deirdre, Siobhán and Don on the passing of Denis (or Dinny as Don encouraged all his mates to call him!)

Dinny was a gentleman, always positive, always great company, always great craic, young at heart and a loyal pal. He lived for his family and eagerly looked forward to visits and calls from his kids and the weekly video calls from his grandkids in Australia.

To us he was a legend, having retired at 57 and choosing to spend the cooler months in Spain before returning home each Spring to prepare his fleet of classic & vintage motorcycles for another season of Sunday fun runs to random coffee shops and ice cream shops around the East coast, or a cheeky run over the mountains to his native Rathdrum and of course the annual pilgrimage to the International and National vintage bike rallies with his crew of biker buddies. In between these distractions he achieved honorary membership status in the McKenna family and kept the house and garden (that bloody hedge!) in top order. After completing all the DIY projects he took on the challenge of an ambitious self build project in his mid 70s with the help and expertise of nephew Mark and direction from his boss Phyllis.

Dinny was a good friend. He will be fondly remembered but sadly missed. RIP.
