My sincerest condolence on the death of your beloved husband Dennis to you and all the family
It is a devastating blow to lose a beloved spouse and an unspeakable shock
Dennis was always welcome in Ryan's garage organised efficient always busy and on the move but never passing without a word for you thank you
I loved going to Dennis shop to get messages for the garage and for our home Roseville but in particular I loved going to get my new school books and in particular the comic Diana!
How sad that day I walked home after cancelling my Diana order now that i was all grown up!
There was always a happy welcoming atmosphere in the shop
I remember Dennis mom such a beautiful gentle soul always carrying a kind smile
St John Chrysostom said about the beloved dead "They are no longer where they were they are wherever you are"

Roscrea won’t seem the same without Denis. He has been the wise old head, the rock of sense, in the town for as long as I can remember. He set a high standard in everything he did, and always lived up to it, from his very efficient running of Downeys to his dedicated service to the Rugby Club and to so many committees in the town. And he did it all with great good humour. It is sad to say goodbye to him. My deepest sympathies to Phil, Helen and Ruth, David, Peter, Brian and Michael on your loss.
— Mary Maher

Denis - What a legend! The very mention of his name brings a smile to your face.
Energetic, dynamic he contributed enormously to the economic and social life of Roscrea. He was a man of many words. He loved the banter and the “craic”. Verbal tennis was his forte! He has left an indelible imprint on Roscrea and we are all poorer for his passing.
He fell in love with our brilliant Maths teacher, Phil.
