You’re missed by everyone so terribly.
Life really is difficult without you in it, your warm presence and your contagious smile. We talk to you every day and feel your presence in nature, your one true love on this earth.
Your daughter is doing you proud, we talk about you every day.

My deepest condolences to the Maher family on the passing of Derek. I have lovely memories of the times we spent skiing in the Alps. Rest in peace Derek.

Very sorry to hear of Marsy passing. Only speaking to him in the Riverforest Hotel a while ago. Had the pleasure of working with him in The Orchard Garden Centre for a few years when we were teenagers and as a fellow CBS pupil. Always enjoyed catching up with him down through the years. We are shocked and so sad to hear of the sudden death of our dear friend Derek .He was a frequent caller always so welcome made his own cup of herbal tea ate all the biscuits and Jellys .He had all the local news ,loved Lucan and especially all the Sport .We watched many matches at weekends especially Hurling .Derek we are going to miss the visits so much .Condolences to your Mam and all the family that you loved so much .Rest in Peace Derek

Have great memories of marsy as i was in the same class in colaiste phadraig back in the late 80s early 90s.He was a great character and friend and also a great hurler and footballer for the school and lucan sarsfields. Always enjoyed meeting him in pubs in lucan in later years talking about old times. I am deeply shocked and saddened that he is no longer here. Shocking news to hear of Derek’s (Marsey’s) sudden passing. All the fond memories flooding back from CBS Roselawn and Lucan Sarsfields . What a player he was. Hurling, Football. Nothing but 100%, every time. Great fun to be around. Genuinely one of the good guys and always looked out for his friends. A no-fuss, get it done, work hard, play hard legend. Gone way too soon. My heart/chest is hurting today.
