Derek Ryan

Dear Nicola, Ben, Tom, just heard desperately sad news about Derek. I knew Derek from CBC where I still remember the day we were being murdered by Blackrock only for Derek to step up with 3 intercept tries and was gone like the wind. He leapt bounds in the triple jump but most of all he was a gentleman, always with a smile and kind word. Very sadly missed by anyone lucky enough to know him. RIP

I am truly so sad to hear of Derek passing. I was drawn to play with Derek in a mixed competition in Killiney GC and had never met him before. We laughed our way around the golf course together - I enjoyed his company so much. And he gave me the golf ball we played with which had the Plummers golf logo on it and I played with it for a long time after! My thoughts are so much with the family.

He was a true gentleman from head to toe. His patience and breath of knowledge was unsurpassed. He helped me greatly many years ago, above and beyond the call of duty.

So sorry to hear about the untimely death of a true gentleman.He always had a smile on his face.He travelled to Spain with the Plummers in 2019 and we had great fun and he certainly was a very good golfer.May he rest in Peace.

My sincere condolences to Derek’s family. We knew each other from schools rugby, Derek being a key player in a very good CBC team. More importantly he was a gentleman and lovely company.

I was very sad to hear of the passing of Derek. We worked together over 20 years ago but I remember Derek as a true gentleman, who knew his subject matter inside out, but who also knew how to have fun. It was a pleasure to work with him and I offer my sincere sympathy at this terribly sad time.

I am so very sorry to hear of Derek's passing. I have many happy memories of holidays on the farm in Wexford and later on in Spain with the Ryan family. I remember Derek had an infectious laugh - many roars of laughter were heard coming from the 'the card room' during summer holidays spent helping out in the family's business.
