May he Rest in Peace Garry O'Shea and Family Templemore.
Dermot was a quiet, soft-spoken man. Many years ago, when I was much younger, Dermot would come and stay some time at our home. He took many adventurous holidays about that time to lands behind the iron curtain and others places. We heard stories of him being picked up by the Stasi police, curious as to know what he was doing there. He loved telling us those stories.
Born in Clonmore, Tipperary he father was in the RIC, his mother a school teacher and on the formation of the Free State, his father became a Garda Sargent and they moved around County Dublin before finally settling off the South Circular Rd, which was his family home until the time of his death. Dermot had no close family members at the time of his death. My dad Jer, a first cousin, passed away on December 1st 2021. I want to thank Frank Bourke, a neighbour of Dermot's who was very good to Dermot for many many years.
