Too soon. Too young. Too sad……

You’ll be missed so very much Dermot by so many who loved you. Our memories shall live on and your stories will always entertain! The music you loved will always be played and bring a tear or two.

You were a brilliant Dad to Jack & Ciaran and a great brother to Cormac. I’m sure you’ll now be at peace with Brenda and your Mum & Dad at your side.

Our heartfelt condolences to your gorgeous sons and to Cormac & extended family & friends. ❤️

Much love from us both. You are in our thoughts & prayers.

With great sadness, I send my deepest condolences to Dermot's children and family and to his business partner Stephen. I wanted to share my 'Dermot' story with you. I'm a customer of Dermot's, located in the States. Although we sadly never had the chance to meet in person, he truly impacted my life with one truly simply act of kindness. In reality, it was not so simply and it meant so much more. For the last few years, Dermot and Stephen, shared their love of St. Patrick's Day with me and my co-workers, "all the way across the pond" by sending a box of the most beautiful and special Irish cupcakes. That single act of thoughtfulness became the talk of my small town and I am sure this exemplifies who he was. Always a joy to talk to and laugh with, but to even think of sending almost strangers such a treat was selfless and meant so much. I promise, I will never forget him and every year, I will raise my glass, the Parting Glass, to toast my dear friend Dermot. Thank you for making me Irish, even if for a day. Thank you for reminding me Dermot that a one act of kindness can truly spread joy throughout our world. Rest peacefully until we finally meet. "That I should rise and you should not, I'll gently rise and softly call, Good night and joy be to you all"
— Laurie Smith
