We got to know this grand gent when Rita agreed to cross the country and raise her family in Kilkenny with Des's appointment as Dye room manager in Fieldcrest textile mills .
Always valued his wily and gentlemanly ways . Mary and I are sad , but , delighted we got to know this fine Mayoman .
Kilkenny got the best bargain when the Beatties settled down here , thats for sure .
