I knew it was going to happen, but it is still very sad: we went back a long way. My deepest condolences to everyone close to Dermot -so, a knowing, complicit smile to you all, and particularly you Dermot; you could be great fun.
— Eoin Dillon
I would like to offer my deepest sympathy to Diarmuid's family at this truly difficult time. I am a friend and work colleague of Diarmuid's in Dolphin House and I have missed him since he went on sick leave. Diarmuid is a breath of fresh air to anyone lucky enough to know him, his clients cried when they heard he was sick. I am away for the weekend and not due back in Dublin until Monday evening and it saddens me I am unable to make the funeral. Sleep tight
— Nina Maher
