My condolence from Boston to Donal's friends and family.In the short time I've known Donal I could see how passionate he was for his music and for Ireland.I didn't dare mention England when conversing with him.A true Irishman who I will soon never forget.

So sorry to hear of Donal's passing. Condolences to all his family. I knew Donal when he was involved in music in the Delvin area and did an article for him one time in The Topic newspaper. He was a nice guy, a great song writer and music was truly in his soul. May he rest in peace.

Only met Donal a few times through music. May he RIP and his music live on.

Condolences to Donal’s family & friends. He was stoic indeed. Would debate until the end that often felt like an argument. 😀 Determined in life whether music, travel, golf & having overcome many obstacles. Then this motor neuron disease appears suddenly and he battled with determination & courage including educating himself & others. He remained upbeat & determined until the end. Certainly will be missed but not forgotten.

A great character and a musical brother - a great supporter of fellow songwriters, he invited me plus other musical friends down to his Indie Sessions in Kells and then came back up to Dublin to steal the show at a Day of the Dead gig that I organised - great memories of great evenings shared doing what we love - his wit, banter and talent will be sorely missed - Save us a slot with Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix!
