My sincere sympathy to all of Rob's family and friends.
He was an amazing geologist, and I owe most of my knowledge about Irish geology in general and Tara and Tara Deep in particular to him. I really appreciated his patience to explain things to me over the years, his great sense of humor and the way he could serve a well placed joke in a meeting. He will be missed.

During my brief time on survey with the Exploration Dept I had a good lot of laughs with Rob and especially remember the tea break quiz!

His unlimited wit will be remembered fondly by his colleagues in Tara Exploration. I will never forget his contributions to the daily tea breaks. Rob was always very generous with his time, whenever I required any geological knowledge. He always pitched his explanations at a level appropriate to my understanding.
