He was a great to ask of our father Dick, as Ned blamed him for sending him to Dublin to help out in the Mitchelstown Co-op Depot there and the rest was history as “I never left” he used say.

Very sorry to hear of Eamonn’s passing. He gave me my first ‘proper’ job in Parkgate Street. Was always very patient with a clueless young fella. I still think of him fondly if I ever catch myself standing with my hands in pockets when there’s obviously loads to be doing. Condolences to the family.

The next time we all meet will be in Vicki and Seans new home in Delgany when we will raise a glass or two and think of Eamon and how he would have loved to have been there too.
