What a wonderful tribute to a great man today from all his fantastic family. Eddie's humour, wisdom, passion for life and boundless infectious energy shone through the words spoken so eloquently in a way only the Coogan clann could do. I'll always remember the privilege of spending a lovely evening of chat with Eddie and Diarmuid in St James's Hospital in December and realising how much he'd given me in the early years of life after I'd given Arthur Guinness the sack as he'd done ten years before me. The encouragement and help Eddie gave me then in his own inimitable way has proven so far to be a gift for life. He'll be hugely missed but the presence of his spirit, a force for life, will be with us forever. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
