I was sad to learn of the death of Eilish, whom I met for the first time at Mean-Scoil Fatima, Ballinamore in the 60s, when we were both students there. It was immediately obvious to everyone that Eilish had exceptional qualities and gifts. She was kind, thoughtful and modest. She could work out all the 'Difficult Stuff', as well as act, dance, sing, play, and be really funny!!

Not many students passed through our school to compare with Eilish, who was popular with all and, classed as a genius.

So until we meet again, Eilish, Requiescant in Pace.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her sister Noreen and brothers Sean and Seamus and to all extended Burns, Mulligan and McKiernan families may she rest in peace.

We are deeply saddened to hear the sad news on the passing of Eilish. She was a kind hearted , gentle woman who cared for every child as her own in every class she taught. I was lucky to have had her as my friend as well as a teacher over the years. When I opened the Creche she arrived with a beautiful wooden farm set that I still have for my grandchildren. She never missed a Christmas and Summer show in the Backstage Theatre. Rest in peace Eilish we will remember you always .

Rest in Peace Mrs Mulligan. I have such fond memories of first and second class with Mrs Mulligan. She was a great educator and so kind and helpful to all her students. Unfortunately I never got to teach with her as I arrived in Stonepark the year she retired. Condolences to Joey and all the family.

Very saddened to hear of Eilish's passing RIP. Eilish was a noble lady, an excellent educator and a dear colleague and friend. Eilish was a very dedicated teacher who showed love, patience and kindness to those under her care. In my early teaching career I was lucky to work alongside her for a number of years. I really enjoyed her cheerful, positive outlook, her warm personality, her wit and sense of humour. She will be dearly missed.
