So sorry to hear of Betty's passing. Many happy memories of summers in Achill, at the Bervie, the Merriman Summer School, her trip to USA to tour the Hudson River School of American painters with me. I will remember the remarkable stories, her love of family history and the arts. We first met many years ago on a beach in Kerry and have been friends since. Condolences to her family especially her sisters, Catherine and Patsy. I will be with all of you in spirit at the Mass and burial in Athboy. A long and special life.Much love.

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Betty. I have known Betty for many years and have so happy memories of her. We met through The International Folk High School and were travelling together every summer with groups from Ireland, England, Wales, Scotland, Holland, Sweden and Denmark. We were usually about 30 - 50 people, mainly the same every year, so we got to know each other very well. Betty was one of the first, I got to know, and she was the most kind, gentle and lovely lady. When I came to Ireland and stayed with Catherine I also got to know her lovely family very well. I'll miss Betty very much.
