We were very sorry to hear of Ellis’s sudden passing. Ellis was one of life’s gentlemen and one of the kindest people we ever had the pleasure to know. The years in Douglas Pitch and Putt were full of fun for both our families. Thinking of you at this sad time.

Sincere condolences to the family and friends of Ellis. I remember Ellis from the days we were in Blackrock A.F.C as kids. He was a flying winger in those days in Southern Park. He had boundless energy, a zany sense of humour and an indomitably positive attitude that was infectious to all who knew him.

I was saddened to hear of Ellis recent death - Ellis was a fantastic person. He had time for everyone and was highly popular.

We was a brilliant Juvenile Officer to me and other young pitch & putt players in Douglas - we had huge success under him in 1979/80 when Douglas Pitch & Putt won a huge number of Juvenile events.

So sorry to learn of the sad passing of Ellis during the week.Our paths crossed early on in years through soccer and then later,on the pitch and putt circuit.We had the privilege of playing on the Douglas course over many years,a superb layout of which Ellis had played a huge part in the development both on and off the course into the wonderful facility their members have today.A gentleman to his fingertips,a great family man,always a warm smile for you,it was always pleasure to meet up with him. My condolences to Nuala Trevor, David and my dad on the loss of Ellis. I remember tagging along the very odd time with my Dad, Ellis, Finbarr and David when they played pitch and putt in Douglas so that I could sit in the clubhouse and play with the piano. I remember growing up listening to my uncle chat about his comic collections and movies. He used let me borrow vhs tapes when I was ever home sick from school, he was like an encyclopedia when it came to anything movie related. Rip Uncle Ellis x
