Rest in Peace, Dear Emma.
— Patrick
Last Sunday we sadly said goodbye to our beautiful Emma. It seems very strange a week later to be writing about her in the past tense. Emma was an extraordinary woman who lived a truly extraordinary life. Little did we realise that an interview on Radio na Gaeltacht would catapult her to such a public profile. Emma was a fighter and used her profile to highlight the issues surrounding the cervical cancer controversy. Emma was first and foremost a mother, daughter, niece, partner, godmother, relative and friend. This is the Emma we knew and loved deeply. In Emma’s own words she was a victor not a victim and fought tirelessly to ensure the future of her five wonderful children. As a family it falls to us to ensure that Emma’s children are her greatest legacy. As a family we are truly humbled by the outpouring of love and support for Emma over the last week. To each of you who have offered your condolences a heartfelt thank you. Please keep Emma’s memory and her wonderful children in your thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time for us all. Emma was loved and is greatly missed by her children and family. We appeal for privacy as we deal with this awful tragedy and start to rebuild our life without our beautiful Emma. May she Rest In Peace.
— Elaine Moran on behalf of Emma’s family

Emma, you were an amazing woman, a fighter to the end. Thank you for being such an inspiration to the women of Ireland.
May your gentle soul rest in peace knowing that your family are safe and provided for.
They did you so proud at your send off, I have no doubt that you are looking down on them from above and will continue to always be there for them.
Godbless you, until we meet again.

To Emma's family,
remember mothers hold their children's hands for a little while, but she holds them in her heart forever. May you always know that your amazing mother will never be far away from those she loved the most.

Emma had great insight and unertstanding into the human mind and yet managed to keep focused and be strong about important issues. Life wasn't easy for her but she always looked on the positive and was very grateful for in particular the beautiful children she felt blessed with. She was always very articulate and intelligent and I'm glad she got to speak her mind and has left a profound legacy by speaking up! Lots of love Emma, I know you will be watching from above and hope your family always feel your presence. RIP
