Sincere condolences to the Bergin family, on Emmet’s passing. I remember his beautifully placed work, on our televisions. Authentic, searching, very much alive portrayals and compositions, on the screen. Many qualities that would inspire and inform every fine performance. Thanks. RIP.
— Frank Jackson, Beaumont, Cork
Emmet was a sweet, smart, funny and generous artist. Kind and empathetic, he was a gentleman who always kept an eye out for others. Before joining RTÉ as a producer, I worked as an actor. On my first day on Glenroe (I had a small recurring role as a solicitor), he welcomed me like an old friend. A decade later I had the privilege and pleasure of working with him (he really knew his way around the microphone) on RTÉ Drama On One.  A golden voice and a platinum talent.
— Kevin Reynolds, RTÉ Drama On One
Deepest sympathy on the sad loss of Emmet. May he rest in peace

Always enjoyed watching Where in the World & Glenroe with my family, and then it was off to bed for school the next day, such happy Sunday night memories. Dick Moran was a great & memorable character and added so much to the entertainment of the show. So sorry to hear of Emmet's passing, thinking of his family and friends at this sad time. May he rest in peace.

Sorry, I only heard of Emmet's death at the weekend.. I did a ten-year stint with him on 'Glenroe' and I enjoyed working with him immensely. His work was always thoughtful, professional, searching and true, and rehearsing with him was always rewarding. He was such pleasant company too, gracious and funny. And one always knew he had another rich life, with his family. Sincere sympathy to you all.
— Tommy McArdle

I’m very sad to hear of Emmet’s death. I only knew him through the characters he played, and always thought he was fantastic - Hollywood leading man material. He brought authenticity and humanity to all his work. He was a great talent and cool before cool was a thing.
Sympathies to his family, may he rest in peace.

My sincere condolences to the Bergin family on the sad passing of Emmet. He truly was a fine actor. The music to Glenroe on a Sunday night meant the weekend indeed was truly over (& no homework done!!!) but it was always a pleasure to catch up on the show and to watch the very sophisticated & handsome Dick Moran. Thank you Emmet for the great memories on Glenroe. It would be great if RTE would rerun the show again on a Sunday night, I think it would be very much appreciated especially for the older generation. Rest in peace dear Emmet.
— Roisin (Cork)

Sad to hear of his passing. He was only gorgeous back in the day. One of the best looking men in Ireland 35-40 years ago. We all wanted to be Mary in Glenroe! Rest in peace, Emmet.

As Glenroe’s incredibly charismatic and handsome Dick Moran, Emmet had us female teenagers - and ladies all over Ireland - glued to the TV on Sunday nights. He was such a great actor with an amazing presence who lit up the TV screen when he entered a room. Sympathies to his family and friends. May he rest in peace.

Emmet was a wonderful person and friend. We lost touch when I left Glenroe but I am so glad that I got his number and was able to call him (albeit briefly) in 2022. It was lovely to touch base again.
Sorry we never got to have that pint Emmet.

Glenroe was a great show back in the day.
I'd be there trying to finish my sums homework but I was too busy seeing what shenigans Dick Moran was carrying up to with Terry and I was only a young pup.
