We are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend Ernie Crossen, Honorary Consul of Mongolia. Our sincere condolences to Mrs. Sylvie, their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ernie Crossen gave me my start in TEFL and the beginning of a 45 year career in teaching and training. He started the careers of countless others both in ELT and other careers and professions. He founded the Irish TEFL industry, and for many decades he WAS Irish TEFL. We will not see his like again

Sincere sympathy to Sylvie and all the family . I remember Ernie from The Dublin Sch of English in Westmoreland St. His business at that time was very successful and many students returned year after year He created a strong academic ethos with school conferences , away wends for students etc , a pioneer in the teaching of English as a foreign language. So very sorry to hear about the passing of Ernie Snr, and our deepest condolences to Sylvie, Ernie Jnr and all the Crossen family. We were very fond of Ernie Snr. I always enjoyed the welcome and the chats with him from Ard Aoibhean to Malahide. Am going to crack open a really special bottle of wine to have a toast to his memory. I think he might like that. Rest in peace.

I am sad to hear of Ernie’s passing, he was a lovely man and a lovely grandfather to Eoin and we have a lot of fond memories and he got to see Eoin in all his glory last October as he graduated as a teacher, may he rest in peace
