Ethna was my year head in St Pat's. I will be forever grateful to her for the kindness and support she gave me during my school years. May she rest in peace. My deepest condolences to the Cantwell and Croskery families.

The St. Patrick’s Classical School Community past and present wish to express their heartfelt sorrow at the passing of our former colleague, teacher and friend Ms. Ethna Cantwell.
Ethna was a passionate and dedicated teacher of Geography and History and inspired in her students a love of her subjects. For many years Ethna invested in the welfare of her students in her role as class tutor and later Year Head.The St. Patrick’s Classical School Community wish to express their heartfelt condolences to Barry, Ruth and Johnny; granddaughters, Grace, Nóra and Rose; her partner, Mack; daughter-in-law, Mairéad; sisters, Sinéad and Fionnuala; brothers, Kevin and Colm; extended family, neighbours and friends.

I first met Ethna and her flat mate Liz many years ago when I moved to Navan
We lived in the same accommodation.
She was so bubbly and always ready for a chat and a laugh.
Her work was so interesting to us all working in the Historical Society.
I still read the book I got from her Navan its People and Past.
