My sincere condolences on the Fergus's passing. I knew him as a fellow member of the RTE Board. Fergus was incredibly kind, welcoming and wise. He embodied the best of the public service ethos. He was a clear thinker and was just as comfortable talking about philosophy, religion or poetry as we was legal or business matters. A kindly polymath who will be sadly missed.

I was very sorry to hear of the death of Fergus. I joined McCann FitzGerald when Fergus was Managing Partner, throughout my time there he was a mentor, personally interested in my development, unfailingly courteous and fostered a culture of developing the careers and interests of colleagues. It was a very great pleasure to meet him again as a mediator and in that role he drew on his considerable skills in reaching a resolution in all parties interests.
