Happy days...dancing to his tunes in Con disco..R.I.P Fergus
— Maria
Very sorry to hear that Fergus has left us.Used to drop in jewellery for repairs now and again to him when he was in Keane’s but his real love of radio is where there was a common ground and I loved to chat with him regarding same.If my memory serves me correctly we did a trade off on two singles we both wanted. He wanted Albert Hammond “Free Electric Band” and I wanted Cozy Powell’s Na,Na,Na,Na.We swopped singles and I have that record today still in my collection.Rest easy Fergus and condolences to all your loved ones.
— Greg Aston
I am so sorry to hear of the sad passing of Fergus. He was such a wonderful person always great to meet and chat with. Both witty and wise. I have fond memories of Fergus calling in to my Fathers Record Shop by the GPO not far from Keane’s Jewellers every few days to see what’s new in the charts and buy the latest singles. Great days.

Very sad news to hear the news this evening about Fergus. He was my former CCLR colleague and the legendary DJ at the Constitution Rugby Club disco in the 70s and 80s. Countless Cork couples began their relationships under his watchful eye (including my own!) and his familiar theme tune "Music" by John Miles will forever be associated with those halcyon days (and for the little tip he taught me about using a small piece of sticking plaster on the surface of the disc to help find the optimum spot for cueing up the music - genius!) R.I.P. big fella. And thank you for being such a great DJ and a great colleague.
— Ken O’Sullivan (aka Ken Regis)

Condolences to the Dalton fsmily on their loss , i had the honour and pleasure of working with Fergus for many years and he was a pleasure to work with and i have many many great memories of him , his love of a pratical joke many of which i was like others the recipient of , one of his best that he forewarned us about was during the renovation of the shop , he got a flat box and proceeded to make a hole in the underneath so he could put his finger in the box , somehow he managed to dress his finger as if it had been cut off and he proceed to a particular lady whom he loved to wind up and tell her that they found the finger in the middle of the works of the renovation as a few of the ladys looked upon the offending MIDDLE finger diget with horrifed fascination , he then announced in s loud voice ( so those tipped of on the prank would know what was coming ) “ look it moves “ as he raised the finger pointing upwards , amind the shrieks and hysterical laughter he scampered as once again he had enforced his position of king of the pranksters , thank you Fergus for the many laughs over the years and may you rest in peace .

Sincere sympathy to all the Dalton family, on the passing of Fergus. I've known Ferg for many years, and on our almost weekly get togethers, with his great friend Paul Murphy, we would invariably get on to one of his great loves-music. His knowledge was phenomenal. His delight was finding old vinyl records and converting them to other formats. Rest in peace Ferg, and may God bless you.

Our grandfather ‘Pop’ use to always say in a Scottish accent ‘Fergus go oot and bring in the coos’ (cows). We thought this was hilarious and used to keep asking him to say it. We called to the grandparents every Friday for a lop (penny) and used to spend it in a shop on the Boreennamanna Road…a whole host of memories gone with you now Fergus and another hole in my heart. My sincerest condolences to my lovely Cuz Orla, Emma and Lisa and all that loved him. He was the loveliest of fellas.
