Fergus McMenamin

I am sorry to hear of the death of Fergus Mcmenamin. We used to have good chats in Cavan town. He was very knowledgeable and great fun to listen to. I would like to offer my condolences to his extended family.

Just told today about Fergus I got him walking on the road at Carnaross one day brought him to Cavan on my way to Cavan he was a nice man told me good stories. Rip Fergus 🕊️

I often saw Fergus about cavan town and on the roads while I was travelling to Killeshandra to do a bit of fishing. I used to think when I saw him its too dangerous to be walking the roads, its a failure of our society that people like Fergus cannot walk the roads safely. People seem to be always in a rush on the roads. I wish now I had spoken to him because from what I hear I probably would have got on well with him. Rest in Peace Fergus.

Rest in Peace Fergus.we could write a book about you going back the years the time my Uncle Fr put you out of the sacristy and the years rolled on to stopping by everyday at our house and on your way back from Cavan knocking on our window.
giving tips on how to play football and throwing golfs up the field; debates on every subject.All our family gave up lifts and left you home to Killeshandra,sometimes from Navan and recently from a dangerous roundabout around Kells.there are a million stories one was how the late Paudi O Shea followed by the nephews nearly choked you for moving a football over the line during a game in Parnell Park and you had to exit the ground.
Yourself ,James &Mona are all at peace now.
