We soldiered together in the Labour Party and on various union campaigns since 1981 and I always found him to be a very courteous, encouraging and deeply principled person.

Really sorry that I missed passing on my condolences in person as I'm on holiday and only saw mention of Flor last night (6 August) online.

I was saddened to read of Flor’s death when I saw the tribute to him in the Sunday Independent of 6th August. Deepest sympathy to his wife Judy and to his family. I got to know Flor when he was a Director of Irish Refining in Whitegate, Cork during the 1990’s. He believed in public service and he was a positive contributor as a Director. One surprise in the tributes was reading he played Minor Football with Dublin.
