I have just watched the beautiful Months Mind Memorial Mass for Fr Batt, from his church in White Plains New York.
What a tribute.
It was the loveliest Months Mind Mass I’ve ever experienced. I hope all his family and friends in Ireland were able to get it.
Great to know that Fr Batt was so loved and so appreciated.

I am sharing in your sadness as you remember Father Bartholomew Daly. He was a wonderful human being. He brought dignity and grace to my life when he asked me to carry the Cross each Sunday for the noon service at OLP in NYC. I carried the Cross there for three years. When my cat Figaro died, he gave me $100 to bury him. Later, he asked me to put his health on the Cross at St. Jean Baptiste Church, where I have been Cross Bearer since 2017. Sunday, August 7, I carried the cross for Father Daly in his memory at the Mass. I will miss him deeply, and I offer my heartfelt sympathy to all those who mourn his loss! May he rest in peace.

Fr. Daly was one of my favorites. I met him through work with the Archdiocese of NY at Our Lady of Peace in 2006 and stayed in touch every since. He was a blessing to be with and even traveled to upstate NY to marry me in 2016. We shared a similar sense of humor and laughs always took place when we were together. I actually received a picture of him on the plane on his trip back to Ireland! My condolences to his family and all who knew him. To his family, thank you for sharing him with me and so many!! He was a good one and I'm so grateful to have had him in my life. He will be missed but his memories will always remain.

My deepest condolences to the family of Fr. Bart Daly. I write this sitting hear with a heavy heart from the loss of a dear friend who was like a second father to me and my brothers , Fr Bart was always there in time of need no matter what that need was , it could have been a troubled heart or a life problem or a faith problem. Fr Bart was always there to lend a hand or just to listen and give advice. I try to remember all the good times at our lady of peace church and how my family and children would gladly help in any way we could for the yearly Christmas Parish Party , where all were welcome even the homeless it did not matter Fr Bart cared for all in the community. That and how we stayed in touch after the death of my mother Sharron Charlton in 2016. We would talk on the phone at times which helped me get through it for that I will be forever grateful. Fr. you were the kindest most caring person I ever met , and I know that God has welcomed you with open arms into the Gates Of Heaven. Rest in peace and may God help ease the pain of your loss to your family. Sincerely Bruce Charlton

We are so saddened and send our deepest sympathy and love. We are parishioners of Our Lady of Peace and Father Daly married us in June 2002. He brought so many people together and created a community that continues to this day with friendships and rosary. He gave us hope, brought joy, peace, and inspired possibility in all of us. I will always remember him smoking his pipe and his laugh. We loved him so much and were hoping to see him again. He has always been with us, thinking and praying for him. It was such a blessing to be part of his flock at OLP. As he recently shared with me in a letter, “that once there was a spot, for one brief shining moment, that was known as Camelot”. We are so blessed and grateful to have shared this moment and spot with him at OLP. We will forever hold him close in our hearts. May he rest in eternal peace and be our angel and guide through our lives. With all our Sympathy and Love.

"Faith, Hope and Love are the things that last....and the greatest of these is love....".
How beautifully Fr. Bart witnessed this truth!
He has been dear to all of us, and we will miss his kind and soft priestly way.
I send sympathy to his good family and thank you for giving the world, 60 years ago, such a man of God.

My sincere condolences to the Daly family. I am so saddened to hear of Father Bart's passing. Whenever he came to Our Lady of Mount Carmel from St. John's to say Mass for us I was so happy to see him. He was a true priest, kind and gentle and accepting of all. His sermons were so loving and sincere. He missed his beloved Our Lady of Peace. I will always remember him and pray for his soul. His smile will never be forgotten. Farewell, Father Bart, until we meet again.

My deepest sympathy to the Daly family. Fr Bart was a very lovely priest our parish was blest to have these past few years. He was a model of how a priest can make an impact and shepherd the rest of us through his gentle ways, humor and reinforcing the teachings in his homilies. Fr. Daly confirmed me into the catholic church, but more than that, he welcomed me and taught me God's mercy. On many occasions Fr. Daly took me under the shelter of his wing, prayed for me, forgave me, and even sought me out when I was lost. Truly, he saved my life. Whenever I had a question in the faith, I could always count on Fr. Daly to have a wise answer and guidance. Though I've known many wonderful priests, I've known none like Fr. Daly, who always managed to keep his sense of humor, was slow to anger, and abounded in mercy. Eternal rest grant unto Fr. Daly, O Lord, and let Your perpetual light shine upon him.

We first came to know Fr Bart when his beloved church of Our Lady of Peace was closed. He happily for us joined our merged parish of St John’s and Our Lady of Mt Carmel. Fr Bart always felt that Mt Carmel reminded him of Our Lady of Peace. We became very close quickly since we both experienced the difficult process of closing and merging our parishes. Despite the deep sadness and loss Fr Daly experienced in losing his belove Our Lady of Peace, he joined us at Mt Carmel faithfully having coffee with us after the 9 AM Sunday Mass. We cherished his generosity, kindness, understanding and spirituality as we struggled to regain a sense of our faith after being battered by the insensitive process of merger. He was always there to listen to us, to heal us, to bring us together and to encourage us to find God anew through our faith. He was not only a priest but a very special gentle and loyal friend whose welcoming smile we all so very much appreciated and will truly miss. May he rest in the peace of the Lord in whom he
believed and served. We extend our condolences to his family and friends

Our deepest condolences to Joe and the family. Ceres and I are deeply saddened at the loss of our beloved Pastor and best friend of the family for 30 years! He was truly a good man, a priest who really lived his vocation and was well loved by his parishioners and prayer group of Our Lady of Peace. Before he left for Ireland, he sent Ceres a note so we could make a bookmark as a souvenir for the celebration we planned for last August 6 here in NY. it reads:

Diamond Jubilee, Fr. Bart Daly, mhm, Ordained July 8, 1962
'I give profound thanks to God for the many years He has given me.
Today, I give thanks for all of you from Our Lady of Peace parish in Manhattan. I will never forget you. You were always 'the wind beneath my wings'. For us, Our Lady of Peace will always be 'that one brief shining moment of our lives'.

We would have wished to be there to say our final goodbye to thank him for all he has done for us and our family. We will miss him very much and will never forget him. May he rest in God's loving arms.

Oggie, Ceres, Bettina and Gabriel
