On behalf of the pupils and staff of Rockwell College I would like to extend sincere sympathy to the Cunningham family. Fr Colum’s commitment to Rockwell College was immense and generations of teachers are remembering him now. We would dearly wish to be there with you to pay our respects if we could.
On a personal note, Fr Colum was a warm and encouraging presence always, quick to give a cheery “Hello Chief!” in the mornings or at dusk as he tended the roses outside the Chapel. He loved Rockwell and he gave it everything. May he rest now in peace.

I'm so sad to hear of the death of Fr Colm. I have been a staff member in Rockwell College for 24 years and as a fellow Tyrone man we got on very well. He tended to his duties diligently and his love for Rockwell was so evident in the way he carried out such duties with due care and attention.
I know he found it difficult to leave the place over a year ago! Now may he find rest in an even better place at the eternal banquet in Heaven, reunited with his loved ones in his own family, and his Spiritan confreres.
Rest in Peace Fr Colm!
— Niall McGonagle
