I would like to convey my deepest sympathies to the family of Fr. Donald, both immediate family and his beloved family in the Kiltegan Fathers. He was such an asset to Knock Shrine during the many years which her served here. His homilies at the many Masses he celebrated were always striking, to the point and touched our hearts deeply. As a confessor too, he was so special. His advice and good counsel were so helpful, and especially, on one particular occasion, he had no hesitation in directing me to do what was right and proper, bringing in the Word of God to the issue, in order to stress the point which he wanted me to understand. Fully!
Rest in peace, Fr. Donald. May the angels come to meet you and lead you to your Heavenly home in Paradise.
— Michael Byrne
Sorry for the loss of fr Donald
— Mary McGrath McDermott roe
Today I was going through some old messages and came across an email I had received from him which reminded me that I had been meaning to write him for quite a while. That was how I found out that our Heavenly Father has called him home not even a week ago. He gave me many a good counsel and direction in my time in Knock, and of course his prayers also helped me on my path. He was such a kind and loving priest, a great example. He will be missed, but with his help we shall see him again in the House of the Father. May his soul rest in peace! I'll be offering masses for him.
My condolences and sympathy to the St Patricks Society, and his relatives.

Donald,
Peeping into the grave readied for you yesterday, I reflected on how favourably the sandy soil compared to the glacial drumlin deposits of Kilmac. Inside where I had visited and celebrated mass with you last September familiar faces bid a welcome that couldn’t fill your absence. ‘Change and decay in all around I see’ yet a hope rooted so deeply in hearts that had been awakened by missionary zeal. An unitative hope that is so visible in the abandon your Society’s recent chapter demonstrated in the radical choice of a young international leadership team.
Then prayers were planned. A request was made of this neighbor. The privilege was then mine to place a chalice and paten on your coffin. Proud to follow in your steps…..
Your families- so many that you belonged to - know real loss. Thanks to the Mc Donagh family that gave you to us.
— Fr Brian Conlon
