It was a pleasure knowing Eamonn and spending time with him. He had a way of making his faith accessible to all by localising it within the lives and experiences of his parishioners. His most judicious words were often delivered via a funny story, in a cloud of smoke from his pipe and with a little glass of something close at hand.

Comhbhrón ó chroí leis an gclann uilig. Go dtuga Dia sólás daoibh in bhur mbris. Beidh cuimhní geala agam dó.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis
— Joan Costello, Ballyduff & Luxembourg
It is with great sadness but also with much gratitude and respect for the beneficial work of Father Eamonn that we say goodbye to a warm, open and caring pastor, trusting in the resurrection. Father Eamonn was the pastor of the English-speaking community in Luxembourg for several years and we as a diocese owe him a great debt of gratitude.
Our sympathy goes to his fellow Redemptorists and to his family.

What exceptional men the Redemptorists send to us in Luxembourg. Fr Eamonn was a wonderful Priest and a friend, with whom one could always have an intellectual discussion but I remember most his spiritual recollection of standing before the crucifix in Metz Cathedral. I am a Brit and he a strong Irish Republican, but he did not let that stand between us and he was often to be found at the British Embassy supporting his British flock. He did much to strengthen my faith.
He was a great ambassador for his country, for the Redemptorist Order, for the Church and, put simply, for Christ. His memory will remain with me and those who knew him. I send my condolences to his family about whom Fr Eamonn always spoke with love and affection.
— David Owen Clark
